Yoga

Welcome. Whether you are new to yoga and don’t even have a mat or a long-time practitioner I am excited to bring my nurturing and accepting nature to mind:bodies in Portland.

I teach less regularly than I would like to right now! I am inspired to create workshops- fun and serious ones- and want to bring yoga into counseling in an accessible and truly authentic, natural way. Like breathing- haha.

Classes I’ve taught include Slow Flow, Yoga for Athletes, Low Back Care Basics in Yoga, and Vinyasa Flow classes at Sellwood Yoga. I have taught yoga at professional conferences (what a great idea the conference leaders had to bring in yoga!), athletic events, and to friends who were struggling with congestion, sore backs, tight shoulders, and cruddy moods. I am always learning, expanding, growing my practice as a student and teacher of yoga.

I teach studio-sized groups (1- 20 folks) and individuals.

I am available to teach at studios, special events, and to private groups (think birthday party, special occasion parties, professional work environments, etc- that kind of fun stuff).

A regular class attendee allowed me to share this:

“As a runner, Janet’s ‘Yoga for Athletes’ class has been invaluable to me in learning to slow down, listen to, and take care of my body — rather than just ignoring the pain and pushing through injuries, as per usual.  Janet is a delight, both funny and compassionate, with a creative and highly responsive teaching style. I can wholeheartedly recommend this class!”
