About Me

The thing we might wonder most when looking for a counselor is, “can I trust this person?” That was my biggest concern when looking for a counselor for myself (hence the face in this picture), and it is a top priority as I offer my support to you.

We might also wonder what counseling really looks like, or if we want to try it again after a negative counseling experience.

With our children, we may just want to know if we’re doing the right thing, wonder WHY our kid acts a certain way, or be concerned about whether their development is “normal.” Check out my Early Childhood Consultation tab for support there!

I also teach yoga and strive to create a welcoming environment for everyone there.

MY BACKGROUND:

Since I was a small child I loved everyone, wanted to stick up for the underdog and anyone who seemed like they felt left out, and so eventually I went to school to become a counselor. I got my Marriage and Family Therapy degree from Pepperdine University in 2008. I moved to Portland (home sweet home) in 2009. I have worked with children of all ages (0-17) and adults of almost all ages (18-65).

Just to see what all the fuss was about, I got brave and started practicing yoga in 2012 and in 2016 completed the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Sellwood Yoga. I enjoy taking and teaching unique and functional classes, and I’m currently (January 2023) learning and training to deepen my teaching practice!

I hope to make you feel comfortable and safe as we share experiences and get to know each other. If you’ve ever had a bad counseling/therapy experience or felt out of place in a yoga studio but you still want to try and just want to feel safe, you are in the right right place.

I’m here because I care about and respect you and your life’s journey. You have lived your life in a smart and capable way and you’ve made it this far. Bridging new connections in the world around you and the world inside yourself can further support your journey in a way that feels good, safe, respected, and honored.

We all deserve support. We all deserve to feel included. We all deserve a safe journey.

It would be a privilege to take the next steps of this journey with you and offer you a safe space and the type of support that helps you feel connected, grounded, and secure as you continue to live your best life.

The next step is to contact me for your free initial consultation. It is a full session (one hour) which allows us to get to know each other without a potentially awkward exchange of payment or paperwork. (I personally feel that it is easier to buy a box of goods if I have an idea about what’s in it first!)
