Counseling

I do my best to let you know I am a safe person to be with.

I am genuine, open-minded, and welcoming to all people by nature (especially in this tumultuous political and virus-focused era we’ve found ourselves in). I have genuine curiosity and concern.

I hope to create an environment in which you feel respected as the expert on your life- where we are equals. We are both responsible for the process and results of our time together. I like to help people discover the types of support they need and deserve. And then reach for that as I support those successes and challenges with you. All relationships require patience, skill and support.

I won’t try to change you- you are who you are for good reasons and I appreciate that about you.

Also, I can be silly- I am human, after all, and I can’t always take myself too seriously. It might be good to laugh together once in a while.

My hope is that you’ll feel like our time together is meaningful, supportive, and rewarding because you’ve been seen, heard, appreciated, respected, and free to be yourself.

You might currently be a part of a complicated household (or used to be as a kid) and are interested in cultivating more supportive and enjoyable family interactions, a parent looking to understand your child’s challenging behaviors, or coming to our sessions to (re)establish a relationship with or greater understanding of yourself. You might have a diagnosis and lots of therapy under your belt, or you may have never been to a counselor. No matter what, we will work together to nurture the growth you desire.

I always look forward to meeting new people and allowing them to determine whether or not we move forward together. You are invited to reach out in the way you are comfortable to ask questions or schedule your free initial visit- for one full hour we can just hang out and see if it’s a good fit.
